!!...Iron Man 3 review...!!

Wonderful!! Delightful.

The protagonist, our beloved Tony Stark stays vulnerable for most parts of the film, is overpowered by his enemy, and is left alone to travel a tough path to glory.

What we love about Tony Stark is his one-liners. And you won't be dissapointed. The film has enough moments to tickle your funny bone and keeps the mood lightened up.

With a much better storyline than the previous, the film gets its boost with the convincing direction by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fame) and then there is Sir Ben Kingsley, the evil menacing looking villain, the Mandarin, Iron Man's archenemy. But to my surprise and well, everyone else's too, (*Spoilers) The Mandarin ain't The Mandarin. :D
It was a nice twist in the story but I was a little dissapointed.
I wanted to see Iron Man take down Mandarin in the Good 'ol fashioned revenge style. Nevertheless it was well constructed and the actual enemy was more badass than I'd have expected. Guy Pearce was good in his role as Aldrich, the real maniac behind Mandarin, but to me his motives didn't seem convincing enough.

There are some superb action set pieces that are sure to blow your mind and prove to a bang for the buck like the masion, the air rescue scene, and the ending. I earlier thought they had given away too much in the trailer, but when his mansion was being blown apart, I was like Oh..not the mansion, Ohh not suits, Oh please not the car... ;)

Pepper Potts's role gets a lift up and so does Rhodney's. He has his own suit now the Iron Patriot, a face-lift version of the War Machine.

What I personally loved the most were the suits. Mark 42 is totally awesome, cool, whatever you call it, it's brilliant!!
We are introduced to Mark 42 in style and it's cool. The armor can fly and wraps itself onto Tony piece by piece at just the direction of chip planted in his left forearm. Nice no?

Shane black combines spectacular action, drama and comedy breathind a new life into the Iron Man franchise. Iron Man 3 gets you emotionally more connected to it's characters.

Don't miss this summer action feast.

!!..The Dark Knight Rises review..!!

Well, I finally got to see the movie today.
And there is no needless to say I loved it. Nolan in the past few years has risen to a level of film-making that is beyond boundaries of measurement. He is a film maker who knows exactly what he is doing and how it will come out to be.

Made on an enormous budget of $ 250 Million, one of the costliest films ever justifies every drop of that money. Such brilliantly organized set pieces blow your mind away. Absolutely beautiful.

Screenplay is what Nolan masters at. This film is very intense. Not because of a particular character like the Joker in The Dark Knight but because a crippled, used to be superhero has to stop a whole city from falling apart.

The fisrt half is all drama, basically it is a build up to the epic saga waiting to be unfold. It does take its time but it's worth the patience.

The villain here is Bane, a mercenary trained by the same Ras 'Al Ghul that Bruce Wayne received his training. Tom Hardy portrayes the character convincingly and his beefed up body does prove to be a tough challenge for the masked superhero.

Officer Gordon also plays a vital role in saving the city and Selina(Catwoman in comic books) is a nice addition as well. Surprising was the character of Officer Blake who understands early what is really going on.

But, during the action sequences the show stealer were the AWESOME gadgets and the impossibly good vehicles. ;-)

Yes. Bane is no match to The Joker.
Yes. TDKR is not better than TDK.
but TDKR is an excellent film in its own right with a much larger perspective than the previous two. At stake here is the whole city of Gotham.

And Yes. It indeed is a perfect finale to the Batman trilogy.

The ending of the film was the best part... see it if you haven't for the surprises.

Go watch it!!

!!The Amazing Spider-Man review!!

The year 2002, Sam Raimi created his rendition of Spider-man, which undoubtedly won hearts of millions of fans around the globe. Being followed by Spider-man 2 and Spider-Man 3, the franchise gets a complete new makeover.

*Spoilers*

The film starts off with Peter Parker having bluffed his way into Oscorp, the firm his father used to own, then impressing Dr. Conners with his knowledge, he enters a restricted area where he gets "bitten" by the spider.

The characterization in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man is much better than that of the earlier franchise. Mary Jane is replaced by Gwen Stacey and that is a good move. Stacey is an independent character in her own right and does help the story unlike Mary Jane who's sole purpose used to be crying or screaming.

The characters feel realistic and not over the top. Very good CGI and character design

of "The Lizard" is appreciated. Having some nice humourous One-liners the film is developed closer to the actual comic books, for eg Peter parker creating his web shooters himself which run out of web cartridge at crucial times very much unlike what Raimi portrayed to be an ability gained due to the genetic mutation.

Despite all these nice advancements made over the previous films, this one didn't quite manage to grip because of the more complicated screenplay which I felt was slightly over-done. Spider-Man on the other hand was more fun, and it actually felt like a comic book story, while this one tries hard to be more realistic. It's extrememly hard to choose between the two because both are films made with different a mood and motive.

While the earlier was fun to watch, this one tries to be more contentful and deep. Action sequences are nicely filmed and also the Spidey swinging around the city scenes do make an impact.

The story was nice, but it felt more of a Peter Parker story than focusing on Spider-Man and his enemy. Dr. Connors is well portrayed by Rhys Ifans. Also, many times scene A felt disconnected from scene B. Anyways...

Blah blah...

Well, enough said... This one surely is a visual treat to watch and a must for fans of the genre and even more for Spidey lovers. Go watch it!!

One advice : Don't go in expecting too much.

Also, one question that has been running in my mind from quite some time now, and after having seen the latest Spiderman flick, my mind is all stuck on it... The Question is:

-Why "The Amazing Spider-Man" and not "Spider-Man 4"?? Was this reboot really needed?

Ferrari ki sawaari review!

Indian cinema seems to be evolving with films having peculiar plot device like a car in this one, a sperm donor, an athlete turned dacoit etc.

Ferrari ki sawaari in typical Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra style, touches your heart and leaves you teary eyed.

- Aimed at portraying the limits to which a loving father can go to fulfill his son's needs, the film does a fine job.

- The characters are very real and believable with no over the top nuances. The father son relationship is nicely shown and the family suffers from the ever-growing problems of the middle-class.

- Story is nicely penned and keeps the viewer engrossed. Although some twists seemed much predictable but it's OK!

- Acting was what impressed the most. Brilliant work. Sharman Joshi proves his metal, Boman Irani as always plays his character of a former cricketer and now a frustrated man having nothing to do with excellence. Also the young Ritwik Sahore has done a good job too.

- The best thing being the feel good factor, the genuineness of Rusi, his love and selfless dedication for his son leave your heart filled with emotion and may even make you put napkins under your eyelids.

In the time of films filled with utter non sense and stupidities, Ferrari ki sawaari brings in a breath of fresh air to cinema goers.

A very nice film overall, you will leave the hall having a smile on your face. Absolutely worth a family trip to the theaters.

Ishaqzaade review

 !!..Ishaqzaade review..!!

As soon as the YRF logo came up on the screen, i started to fear that it would turn into another cliched love story!

Well, to sum the whole thing up...it DID but at some parts only. Thank god it wasn't the typical candyfloss romance like many of us are used to!

-The story didn't have any high point at all. The first half is bearable because of the initial political rivalry kind of a thing.

-The film captures the backdrop and the essence of the small town of Almore quite well especially in two chase sequences where Zoya and Parma run for their lives.

-Story is that of the old Hindi cinema ie Hindu-Muslim rivalry, their children falling in love, families turning against them, mother's sacrifice, change of heart and that's it!! That explains pretty much the whole story.

-Gaalis are the most prominent thing in this film and in the ending it was all about "dhishkyaoon" (*_-) vali guns which are called "Tamancha" in desi bhasha!!

-Amit Trivedi's music was really good. Plus the background score was also nice that added to the flavor of the movie!

-Though everything goes smooth, after a point of time, I felt the film started to drag. But it managed to prevent itself from falling all the way down and get a grip to hold a viewer till the end. I think that happened because there were too many sings and dance numbers that were not required at all.

Though being cliched and predictable, Ishaqzaade keeps u engaged for most parts mainly because of the good chemistry between the leading pair, their nice performances and the dialogues.

This is an Ok-ok film that was rides on the thin line between being average and good!!

I guess I would call it not so good but an above average movie that is worthy of the viewer's time and money!!

The Avengers review!!

The fans of the franchise now, have another reason to smile, this time an even bigger one!! :-)

Ever since the trailer of The Avengers went on air, from that very day I had been watching it daily twice at least. Already knowing that its got to be a fantastic film...somewhere I feared that hype often kills it!!

Thank God!! Nothing like that happened...instead, I, after finally having watched the awesome Superhero flick, feel that this one was under hyped!!!

Its a waayyyyyy tooo goooooddd!!!!! One of the best kick-ass action flicks EVER!

F***!!! I don't have words enough to describe the excitement I'm in right now. Brilliant it is! Anyone who has ever read any Superhero comic book in his life, GO SEE the movie...

Having dazzling set designs all amazingly well crafted into one package, director Joss Whedon to my amazement has given this Superhero feast, a nice new treatment. And that is that The Avengers despite having been put into Genres like Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi, surprise, surprise, it is Extremely funny too...I knew Tony Stark(aka Iron Man) would be delivering some witty lines here and there, but never was I expecting it to be sooo hilarious!! Amazing work!!

6 Superheroes, the earth to save, It has EVERYTHING a fan-boy would ever ask for, even  more!!

After having successfully introduced us to Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America in their individual ventures, Marvel studios have done a brilliantly good job by developing this unbelievable spectacle!!

One more thing that I would specially appreciate about The Avengers is that EVERY
superhero gets his/her deserving screen space! Nobody was overshadowing.

Iron Man is techy, Hulk is destructive, Thor being a Demi-god it must have been a
really difficult task to group them up along with Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain
America who are already used to obeying orders. Plus with all that being in place
initially they had their egos clashing against one another. Having all that resolved,
the enemy is Loki, brother of Thor, there were Supernatural creatures that had to be
blended within the perimeters of the world that had been developed. Man, this would
have been one hell of a tough job!!

Spectacular, jaw dropping action, excellent fun, smart and witty dialogues make this
Superhero extravaganza a treat to watch!! Exceeds all expectations.
I'm still working on believing it! It was that good... And well, I don't know if I
should tell this in public but I, literally was sitting on the seat like a little
child, clapping, whistling and laughing my lungs out, enjoying every scene of the movie.

There is sooo much to write about but that would be unnecessary i guess, so only one suggestion in the end.....Don't miss this!!

This definitely couldn't be any better. Hats off to Joss Whedon, the cast who delivered
their performances with a panache and to the Marvel crew!!!

This was by far the most entertaining memorable movie I have seen in my life!! Will cherish this for long..... I wish I had my friends with me...huh!! Nevermind..!! ;-)

The Avengers.....Go!! Go!! Go!!!

Sherlock review

!!...Sherlock...Sherlock...!!!

Just finished watching Sherlock (TV SERIES), aired on BBC One over two seasons in Three episode series each (2010-2012)!! I obviously watched the DVDRip!!

And I have to admit, this time, a TV Series...a TV Program has amazed me.

Man, what a brilliant show. Almost every time Sherlock opened his mouth to speak, you forget everything going around you and try and pay as much attention you can and when he's done with it..you say to yourself.... "Hey, what the hell just happened..."

The few things i found stunning in this show are:

- Insanely good dialogue delivery by Benedict Cumberbatch.
- Insanely sharp eye for things.
- Insanely brilliant case solving.
- Insanely good acting.
- Insanely keen writing.
- Insanely interestingly filmed.
- Insanely this......
- Insanely that....

So, in short if I sum up all these... This show is FUCKIN INSANE!!!!

Believe me guys.... I'm falling short of adjectives right now! I feel very lucky to have watched it. Thank you makers of the show.

And ya...talking about the last Episode ie Season2 Ep.3... it completely took my breath away man!!
Killer twist in the end... I won't spoil the fun by telling you that but let tell me tell you...at the very end you will be like "Oh Man!!"

Adaalat, till now, was my favorite show on Sony... I think I'll never be able to enjoy it again, thanx to Mr. Sherlock!! Urrrghhh!! (*_-)

Well, I surf imdb regularly and had known about this show for sometime... but I would really like to thank my pal Vishesh who made me watch it.

Thanx again Vishesh.....
